you woke up in the cosmos. stars falling all around you, the screaming voices of those who you couldn't save. and then you see them ⎯⎯ holy, holy, holy; ephemeral beings glinting in the darkness like a golden candelabrum, their flames shining just as bright. your fate lies unchanged ahead. —— ❜❜

LUNE DI’LARA,

timeline.

34—31 BBY:

lune’s parents meet.

• at this time, lune is nonexistent. her mother is still princess adya [ah-die-ya] and diligently studies to succeed jiru’s throne. adya’s mother, queen onna, reigns. adya’s dad, the king, died when adya was a preteen.• lune’s father was a padawan named dev. he accompanied his jedi master to the planet on a diplomatic mission——they were assigned to settle a dispute between jiru and the trade federation. this is how he meets princess adya.• she shows him around the castle grounds, and they become very fond of each other. eventually, she shows him the rest of jiru. especially: the beautiful, sprawling jungles she knows so well. when the sun sets, the sky turns a vibrant purple, an adored sight of adya’s. she showed dev the view from her favorite spot in the jungle.• jiru’s number one export is a gorgeous crystal used in prestigious clothes / jewelry across the universe. it’s called LUNITE! it’s exclusive to jiru; and therefore, incredibly rare and sought after. these crystals can only form under the light of jiru’s moon. the trade federation is unrelenting in their efforts to try and monopolize lunite exports.• the dispute between jiru and the trade federation is prolonged. dev and the jedi master end up being on / off of jiru for a period of three years.• as a jedi, dev is Not supposed to form attachments, but. Alas! he started falling in love with the princess. her mother could sense this development and she was very, very displeased. queen onna is the universe’s number one man hater and has always been hesitant to align herself with the republic. jiru doesn’t often accept the help of outsiders because they have a prestigious guard of their own. she sees the jedi as a threat to everything they’ve built, due to how much influence they have throughout the galaxy.• she allows this particular diplomatic mission, though, because: the royal guard usually handles conflict that takes place ON the planet, and the trade federation attempting to impose a blockade on jiru is a complex situation that effects A LOT more than just her citizens——hence, the republic sending the jedi to mediate the dispute.• his jedi master Also caught on to dev’s feelings for adya. older jedi are wiser and all that. the queen warns her daughter against this union, and the master warns his padawan all the same. their efforts are ultimately unsuccessful. adya and dev continued their little love, secretly.

30 BBY:

adya is pregnant with lune.

• by time adya realizes she’s pregnant, his mission is over and he’s long gone.• her mother catches her trying to find ways to contact him and pops off. she essentially exposes that she already knows everything etc etc then she informs adya that her little boyfriend died on his latest mission.• truth be told, dev was still alive. onna threatened to expose his affair with her daughter to the council and have him removed from the jedi order. dev, filled with guilt for breaking his vows in the first place, complies with her wishes and properly devotes himself to the jedi order. he never returns to jiru. of course, it wouldn’t have been so easy to get rid of him if queen onna would’ve informed him that adya was pregnant with his child.• adya is heartbroken. she lives the rest of her life believing dev has passed. though, she never trusts her mother. in fact, she’s not sure she ever did.

29 BBY:

lune is born!

• princess adya gives birth to a baby girl. she names her lune, inspired by jiru’s “lunite” crystals.• queen onna adores her granddaughter; though her relationship with princess adya strains by the day. there’s something there——sharp-edged tension that suffocates them both. baby lune lives in blissful ignorance; beloved by the kingdom and not yet burdened by royal responsibilities.

26 BBY:

adya is crowned queen.

• lune is three years old when she’s gifted G1A: her personal robot. a guardian, assistant, teacher, combat instructor——you name it. most of all: G1A existed to protect lune and ensure her growth. G = guardian, 1 = represents its sole devotion to one user, A = assistant. lune simply calls her “gia.” this name catches on around the castle.• her grandmother, queen onna, falls ill. she’d been losing her wits for some time at this point, but whatever was plaguing her had reached it’s height. a delusional outburst that shattered her image once and for all.• the royal council confers with the healer. and, after much deliberation, they vote onna unfit to rule. lune’s mother, adya, is quickly crowned queen of jiru.• onna is still kicking, but her mind is deteriorating. she remains at court, like a ghost wandering the halls.

22—19 BBY:

clone wars.

• lune is 7 years old at the beginning of the clone wars, and 10 years old by the end. she continues her studies, preparing to be queen someday.• a year into the clone wars, onna di’lara succumbs to her illness and dies during a stroll through the castle gardens. a royal funeral is held. queen adya and princess lune mourn.• not long after the death of lune’s grandmother, separatists invade jiru in an attempt to sway queen adya’s neutral stance. the impenetrable force that is jiru’s royal guard fights back valiantly; and with the help of the republic army, (obi-wan, ahsoka, anakin, etc.) they defeat the separatists.• queen adya, with an everlasting soft spot for the jedi in her heart, announces jiru’s official allegiance to the republic.

19 BBY:

revenge of the sith / order 66.

• lune is 10 years old at this time.• the clone wars are over! yay!• her father, jedi master dev havati, survives order 66. of course, this news doesn’t make a difference at this time, as she and her mother have still believe him to be dead.

17 BBY:

imperial occupation of jiru.

• lune is 12 years old at this time. this is when she begins having strange dreams. most notably, a nightmare in which imperial troops invaded her planet. she woke up screaming. and then, only a few days later:• the Galactic Empire occupies Jiru, exerting control over Queen Adya through fear and manipulation.

16—15 BBY:

the queen forms a plan to rebel.

• Queen Adya discreetly initiates plans to resist Imperial control, forming an alliance with her royal council and guard.• Lune, now 13—14, continues her studies, learning both traditional combat and the ways of her people.• the imperial guards have come to loathe lune and her antics. she’s stubborn, defying them every chance she gets. only complies when silence works in her favor; such as: eavesdropping on the imperial troops. ever the wise girl, always gathering information.

14 BBY:

the fall of jiru.

• lune is 15 years old at this time.• queen adya and her royal guard execute their long-awaited rebellion against the empire occupants. lune is “staying safe” in the dungeons with G1A, her lifelong assistant / guardian bot. every time she tries sneaking out, G1A prevents it. protecting lune is in her code.• the plan ultimately fails. the queen, her guard, and innocent citizens are murdered by the empire. the last thing queen adya does before succumbing to her injuries is kiss her daughter’s forehead and force her into an escape pod. lune flees jiru with G1A.• the escape pod crashes in the dune sea of tattooine.

14—12 BBY:

life on tattoine.

15—17 years old.• Over the next two years, Lune repairs and upgrades their escape pod into a functional ship, learning engineering and survival skills.• horrific nightmares persist. and visions of things she hasn’t yet seen.• While scavenging for parts, Lune hears whispers of a mysterious woman with arcane powers residing in the Dune Sea.

12—11 BBY:

training with the nightsister.

• when she’s 17, Curiosity finally gets the best of her and leads her to this figure——a surviving Nightsister from Dathomir, exiled after the massacre of her clan.• Recognizing Lune’s latent Force sensitivity, the Nightsister offers to teach her the ways of Nightsister magick, a practice distinct from Jedi teachings, rooted in the dark side and the natural energies of the universe.• for the next few years, Lune learns to harness her abilities through rigorous training, blending her innate jirusian talents with the Nightsister’s teachings.

10 BBY:

betrayed by her mentor.

• now 19 years old. lune and the nightsister have decidedly left their dwelling in tattooine. they’re headed to an outer-rim planet.• unbeknownst to lune: the nightsister, having lost her clan and purpose, sees an opportunity——lune has quite the bounty on her head. the lost princess of jiru, they call her. the would-be queen, others say. by turning in a force-sensitive individual with royal lineage, she hopes to gain favor or resources from the empire.• as they travel together, lune senses a disturbance; its rich in the air. even richer in her bones. something was wrong. something was coming. fortunately for lune (but unfortunately for the nightsister), she was an exceptional apprentice. the nightsister only wished she hadn’t taken so much time teaching the child before this opportunity arose.• lune waits. then, they land.• a fierce battle ensues. jirusian combat training, combined with the force at her fingertips brings lune to bittersweet victory.• shaken by the betrayal and the act of killing her mentor, she returns to her ship, accompanied by her loyal assistant droid, G1A. realizing that the empire is now aware of her location and possibly tracking her movements, she makes the difficult decision to leave the planet immediately.

10 BBY—0 ABY:

tba.

• i have yet to write this part out but. pretty much just know that she spends the next decade dodging the empire, fighting for her life, plotting to get her throne back, and finding out the truth about her dad.
